Holiday movie is the remake is the Tamil movie Thuppakki. It is a complete action entertainer. The movie story revolves around the life of an Indian army intelligence officer who tries to expose a terrorist conspiracy.Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty[2] is an upcoming Bollywood action thriller film written and directed by A.R. Murugadoss, and produced by Vipul Shah. It features Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles, along with Govinda in a supporting role. It is a remake of a 2012 Tamil film Thuppakki starring Vijay and Kajal Agarwal in lead roles.[3] The film is scheduled to release on 6 June 2014.

Akshay Kumar as Captain Virat Bakshi - an officer in the Indian Army who works in DIA (Defence Intelligence Agency)wing for conduct of secret intelligence operations.

Freddy Daruwala as Sleeper Cell's leader - The head of a sleeper cell organization. A sleeper cell has many people working for him whom are willing to sacrifice their lives in order to bomb an area. The film's production commenced in 2013 with the working title of 'Pistol' under the banner of Hari Om Entertainment and Sunshine Pictures. The soundtrack is composed by Pritam Chakraborty, and the stunt coordinator of the film is Greg Powell of Skyfall fame.

According to director Murugadoss, Kumar's role is of an Army officer for which Kumar lost some weight to fit in the role and to look 12 years younger from Kumar's biological age. Kumar also sported a crew-cut hairstyle for his role.
